Our God is a Consuming Fire!!!

Did I digress? “The rabble among them [who followed Israel from Egypt] had greedy desires (lust) [for familiar and delicious food], and the Israelites wept again and said, ‘Who will give us meat to eat? We remember the fish we ate freely and without cost in Egypt, the cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions and garlic. But now our appetite is gone; there is nothing at all [in the way of food] to be seen but this manna” (Numbers 11: 4-5, AMP).

They whined so much that even Moses almost forgot who God is. This is spiritual warfare. Even the man of God was not exempt. Pay attention!

“Now Moses heard the people whining [in self-pity] throughout their families, every man at the doorway of his tent; and the anger of the LORD blazed hotly, and Moses regarded their behavior as evil. So Moses said to the LORD, ‘Why have You been so hard on your servant? And why have I not found favor in Your sight, that You have placed this burden of all these people on me?

I Have Done No Wrong!!! Many of us believe that if we do the bare minimum that all of our past sins should be forgotten. And that God should wave His magic wand and give us what we want. But can I tell you something? God is not a man that He should lie, nor the son of man, that He should repent. We do evil in His sight, He then judges us in righteousness, but we think that we should decide when our punishment is sufficient. By His grace, He has already set the terms, that if we obey, we can still be victorious and more importantly, learn the lesson, with patience, being steadfast. So that we truly repent of our evil ways. Let me put it this way. Imagine committing adultery against God, and although He forgives us, we continually complain, and gaslight Him.
